bHive is an Australian first, established by 4 local people who want Bendigo to prosper through owning and operating its local sharing economy.

The digital Villages platform will connect groups of neighbours together across Greater Bendigo to build social capital, share free resources and skills, run events together and communicate with each other collectively and individually. Villages aims to create an epidemic of belonging.

bHive cofounder Ian McBurney says, “There has been lots of support for bHive around Australia. We are so pleased that Bendigo is taking the lead and kickstartin

g the development of our platform.”

bHive has big plans to help to build locally owned cooperative enterprises that provide access to local goods and services, create meaningful work, localise spending, create community connection and look after the environment. Our next project is to investigate bringing car sharing to Bendigo.

The bHive team send a big thank you to Fosterville Gold Mine and the City of Greater Bendigo for creating the big ideas grant and for awarding it to our project.
